WHAM Roving Dinner Party

Sunday 23 February 1997 is also Purim Katan.

To celebrate this, WHAM is holding its now traditional supper (the complicated one).

The way it works is this:

There is a strictly limited number of places, arbitrarily decided upon by the committee member organising the event. And I have decided that there will be 36 places (which is the same number as in previous years).

The event only works if all the places are taken, ie. if I get 36 acceptances and everybody comes. Saying yes is therefore a commitment.

There will be three courses. Each course will be at a different venue, being someone's home, but there will only be six places at each venue.

Nobody will hve two courses at the same venue and for the first two courses, no-one will have the company of the same five people twice. Couples may be split up for almost a whole evening.

Everyone starts at the same place for a brief reception and meets up again in one place for the third course and coffee.

This means that of the 36 people coming, 13 have to volunteer (in practice, this means that people are likely to be asked) to host one course for six people, and one person will have to be prepared to have 36 people in their home for dessert and coffee (the reception is already sorted).

All courses will be parev/milk. If you want to come, please let me know.

There will be a charge of £5 per head for those not hosting a course. If you wish to take part in this event, please reply either by post to
Geoffrey Zelin, 2 Murray Terrace, London NW3 1EX or telephone me. Don't forget to let me have your telephone number and to tell me whether you are willing to host.
